Andrey Olkhovsky, General Manager of AVTODOM Group, commented the dynamics of the indicators and gave a forecast for 2025: “According to analytical agency Autostat, sales of new cars in Russia last year grew by 48.4%. Sales of used cars grew by 6%. Our results of +67.8% and +33.4%, respectively, exceed the average market indicators. Such dynamics, together with a 25% increase in revenue, are certainly encouraging. This allows us to look to the future with optimism. We were able to maintain the workload of our service shops, despite the lack of support from a number of Western manufacturers in terms of technical maintenance. This once again emphasizes the high quality of our service centers and the impeccable level of customer service. In addition, we optimized some of the unproductive personnel by automating a significant part of business processes and transforming the holding's digital infrastructure. Thus, the company's staff was reduced by 8%.However, we are concerned about the Bank of Russia's policy of tightening regulations for banks in terms of issuing car loans. These are the main driver of new car sales growth. It is very important for all car dealers to understand the long-term position of the Bank of Russia to form a strategy for working in the auto retail sector. The marginality of the business is changing due to the growth of the key rate. We expect the volume of the new car market in 2025 to remain at the level of last year - 1.6 million units under the optimistic scenario. We forecast a reduction in market capacity to 1.3-1.4 million units in the baseline scenario. We forecast a reduction in sales to 1-1.2 and 1 million units under the most pessimistic scenario. Therefore, large automobile holdings wishing to strengthen or maintain their leading positions in the Russian market must analyze the work of each direction and each dealership in terms of efficiency. We must all promptly adjust the business management strategy."
